Purchasing a new car, while exciting, can also be extremely stressful. That’s because you have to take into account a lot of factors when deciding on the right car for you. Appearance, handling, gas mileage, safety, and of course, cost, are all very important. Often, the dependability of the car is overlooked. If you’re looking for a car that will be reliable for years to come, look no further. What follows is a list of seven of the most reliable cars you can buy. All of the following models were ranked in the top 3 in their class by the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study and they all have a strong record with Consumer Reports.

Honda Fit (Subcompact)
In addition to being very reliable, the Honda Fit is one of the most affordable cars in the Subcompact class with a price range of about $15,500 to $21,000. It also gets 33 MPG in the city and 41 MPG on the freeway.

Honda Civic (Compact)
The Honda Civic is one of the top selling smaller cars. It’s known for its smooth transition and responsive handling. It gets 28 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. The list price ranges from about $18,000 to $29,000.

Toyota Camry (Midsize car)
Another best seller, the Toyota Camry has long been known for its reliability. It comes standard with a V-4 engine that gets 25 MPG in the city and 35 MPG on the highway though a V-6 option is also available with lower MPG. Prices range from $23,000 to $31,000.

Buick LaCrosse (Large car)
Though the mileage isn’t as good as some of the others on this list, the Buick LaCrosse has become more reliable in recent years. Buick is also working to revamp its appearance to appeal to younger buyers. A partial hybrid version is available for those interested in better mileage.

Kia Sportage (Small SUV)
Known for its quick acceleration and excellent handling, the Kia Sportage is a popular choice. If you’re willing to sacrifice gas mileage, you can go with an even faster turbo boost option. The list price ranges from $22,000 to $30,000.

Buick Enclave (Midsize SUV)
The second Buick on this list, the Enclave doesn’t get as good a mileage as the LaCrosse but that’s to be expected for an SUV that can seat up to eight people. It has a smooth ride and good handling and is priced from $39,000 to $49,000.

Mercendes-Benz E Class (Luxury car)
Mercede’s E class includes sedans, coupes, convertibles and wagons. The engine can range from a V-6 to a V-6 hybrid and a V-8 performance model that boasts 577 horsepower. The price also varies widely from about $52,000 to $103,000.
